Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

These terms govern the travel design and booking services provided by Atlantis Peru Travel. Please read them before confirming a booking.

1. Who we are

Atlantis Peru Travel is a travel design company registered in Peru, with operations based in Trujillo, La Libertad. Full company details — registered name, tax identification (RUC) and registered address — appear on every quotation and invoice we issue.

2. What we sell

We design tailor-made journeys and arrange the services they contain: accommodation, transport, guiding, entrance tickets and activities. Many of these services are operated by independent third parties. We select and coordinate them, and we remain your point of contact throughout.

3. Quotations and prices

Prices shown on this website are indicative starting points, expressed in US dollars per person and based on two travellers sharing a room. Your final price is confirmed in a written quotation and depends on dates, group size, accommodation and availability.

A quotation is valid for the period stated on it. Prices may change before confirmation due to supplier rates, exchange rates, or government-imposed fees and taxes.

4. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed when we receive the agreed deposit and send you written confirmation. The balance is due by the date stated in your quotation. Certain services — including Machu Picchu entry, Inca Trail permits, domestic flights and rail tickets — require full payment at the time of booking because they are non-transferable and issued in your name.

5. Changes and cancellations

Cancellation terms are set out in your quotation and vary by service, since they follow the policies of the suppliers involved. As a general rule, the closer to departure, the higher the cost of cancelling.

Some components are non-refundable from the moment they are issued. We will always tell you which ones before you pay.

6. Changes we may have to make

Occasionally we must alter an itinerary for reasons beyond our control: weather, strikes, road closures, archaeological site restrictions or supplier failure. When this happens we provide an alternative of comparable standard. Where no alternative is possible, we refund the affected service.

7. Your responsibilities

Before travelling you are responsible for:

  • Holding a passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date, and any visa required for Peru.
  • Arranging travel insurance covering medical treatment, repatriation and cancellation. We strongly recommend it and may require proof for certain activities.
  • Telling us about medical conditions, reduced mobility, allergies or dietary needs that affect the itinerary.
  • Arriving at the times and places agreed in your final documentation.

8. Health and altitude

Several destinations on our itineraries sit above 3,000 metres. Altitude affects people unpredictably and independently of fitness. Our itineraries build in acclimatisation time, but if you have cardiovascular or respiratory conditions you must consult your doctor before booking.

9. Liability

We are liable for the proper organisation and coordination of the services we arrange. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, nor for the independent acts of third-party suppliers beyond our duty of careful selection.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Complaints

If something goes wrong during your trip, tell your specialist immediately: most problems can be solved on the spot. If you remain dissatisfied, write to us within 30 days of returning.

As a company operating in Peru we also maintain a Libro de Reclamaciones (complaints book) as required by Peruvian consumer law, available on this website.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Peru. This does not deprive consumers resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom of the protection of mandatory consumer rules of their country of residence.
